Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today performed Bhumi Pujan of hospital and academic block of Dr Y.S. Parmar Government Medical College, Nahan in Sirmour district to be completed by spending an amount of Rs. 261 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that this complex would be completed within the next two years and world class facilities would be ensured to the students of this college. This college would also provide specialised health care facilities to the patients of the region. He said renal dialysis and ortho facilities and separate special wards for TB patients would also be made avaiable in this medical college.
The Chief Minister said that the State has six medical colleges in government sector besides one private medical college. Apart from this, the Union government has sanctioned AIIMS for the State which was coming up at a cost of Rs. 1300 crore in Bilaspur district. He said that now the need was to strengthen existing health institutions. The Union Government has launched Ayushmann Bharat scheme which was the world’s largest health scheme covering about 50 crore people of the country. He said that the state government has started HimCare scheme to provide health cover to all those families that have not been covered under the Ayushmann Bharat Scheme.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the government was promoting institutional deliveries with several incentives being provided to promote the same. The baby care kit was being provided to all newly born in health institutions of the State. He said that the one year’s tenure of the present state government had been full of achievements and development of every area had been ensured. The government was working without any tendency of vengeance and vendetta towards its political opponents. He said that the sole aim of the government was to ensure balanced development of the State with special focus on those areas which remained neglected so far.
He said that the Nation was safe in the hands of strong and able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the country was fully capable to give befitting reply to Pakistan and terrorists backed by it. The Nation gave a befitting reply to the recent Pulwama terrorist attack by destroying terrorist camps being run in POK. It was due to the strong central leadership that today Pakistan stands isolated. He urged the people to strengthen the hands of Shri Modi so that the pace of development in the country goes uninterrupted.
Earlier, the Chief Minister laid foundation stone of parking near Nahan bus stand and renovation work of HRTC bus stand to be completed by spending an amount of Rs. 6 crore. He laid foundation stone of nature park to be constructed at a cost Rs 1.50 crore. He also planted a sapling of ‘Rudraksh’ in the proposed nature park. He said the nature park would not only ensure conservation of the forest but also provide best recreational facilities to the people of Nahan town. The park would have several facilities like amphitheater, cycling tracks, kids zone and fragrance garden etc.
The Chief Minister announced Atal Adarsh Vidyalaya in Nahan Assembly constituency and Sub-Tehsil at Majra.
He also laid foundation stones of two primary health centres at Barma Papri and Shambuwala.
Several social, cultural and political organisations honoured the Chief Minister of the occasion.
Speaker, State Vidhan Sabha Dr. Rajiv Bindal thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating developmental projects worth crores of rupees in his Assembly constituency. He said that the pace of development gained momentum since the present state government assumed office under the visionary leadership of Jai Ram Thakur.
He said that the new complex of the Nahan medical college would go a long way in providing best and specialised medical facilities to the people of the State. He also detailed various developmental demands of the area.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Vipin Singh Parmar said that the State was making great strides in every spheres of development under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. He said that the medical college Nahan would prove to be a milestone in the field of quality health and education. He said that this building would be ready by next two years. This institution would have all modern facilities with five ultra modern Operation Theatres.
Member of Parliament Virender Kashyap said that the present Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured that the Himachal Pradesh get all possible assistance for its developmental needs. He said that the Union government not only approved central projects worth crores of rupees, but has also ensured that the State gets immediate assistance at the time of distress.
Principal of the Nahan medical college Dr. Jai Shree Sharma said that in the coming times, this college would emerge as the premier medical college of the region.
Chairman, State Marketing Board Baldev Bhandari, Vice Chairman, State Civil Supplies Corporation Baldev Tomar, and Suresh Kashyap, Chairperson, Nagar Parishad Nahan Rekha Tomar, Director, Medical Education Dr. Ashok and Director Health Services Dr. Ajay Gupta were also present on the occasion among others.
The employees are the backbone of any government as they play an important role in effective implementation and dissemination of policies and programmes. This was stated by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the ‘Abhinandan Samaroh’ organized by Himachal Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers Association, Sirmour district at Nahan today.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government has always maintained cordial relation with its employees and has ensured that they get best treatment. He said that it becomes duty of the government and the employees to work collectively for betterment of the State so that Himachal emerges as the most developed State of the Country.
He said that the state government has announced to enhance the government contribution under the New Pension Scheme from existing 10 percent to 14 percent in this year’s budget. This decision would benefit over 80,000 New Pension Employees of the State.
Jai Ram Thakur said that all the genuine demands of the employees were being redressed and they were being provided financial benefits from time to time. He said that the emoluments and honorarium of various categories of employees have been increased considerably to provide them relief and in future also all the genuine issues of the employees would be redressed in a phased manner.
He announced Rs. 10 lakh for the building of NGO, District Sirmour at Nahan.
The Chief Minister was honoured by various employees Associations on the occasion.
Speaker, Vidhan Sabha Dr. Rajiv Bindal said that the present state government was employees friendly and has provided several relief and financial benefits to them.
District President of the NGO Rajinder Babbi welcomed the Chief Minister on behalf of various Associations of the employees and detailed various demands of the employees.
